About student life
Student Activity Pool: Help Your Students Bring Their Ideas to Life for the Benefit of the Study Environment
Are your students familiar with the Student Activity Pool?
The Student Activity Pool at SDU gives students the opportunity to apply for funding for projects that enhance the study environment, well-being, and sense of community. As a lecturer or staff member, you play an important role in making the pool visible and accessible.
The Student Activity Pool is a financial support opportunity for students to turn their ideas into reality – whether it's about social events, academic workshops, creative communities, or something entirely different. However, many students are unaware of the pool or believe it's difficult to apply. This is where you, as a staff member, can make a difference.
What can you do?
- Mention the pool in your teaching – a brief encouragement can be enough.
- Share the link to the pool on study pages or in itslearning.
- Encourage students with good ideas to apply – especially those who already show initiative.
- Use concrete examples – see previous projects such as support for establishing student associations and academic events.
Quote from staff, SDU:
“We met in August about a well-being project, applied for funding, received a response within 14 days, and were able to launch the project with the first event already at the start of the semester.”
– Charlotte Dickmeiss, Academic Coordinator at SUND and co-initiator of “Fritidsordningen” in Psychology, Campus Odense.
Practical information
- The pool is open for applications on a rolling basis – both from individual students and student associations.
- The application process is simple and does not require a CVR-registered association.
- Students receive quick responses and support to get started.
Help us spread the word
SDU Communication and SDU Education are working to make the pool more visible – but the most effective communication often comes directly from you to your students. Thank you for helping strengthen the study environment at SDU.
