Develop Educational Activities with EPICUR

An Open Course is a course offered by one university or co-developed by several EPICUR partners and made available to students across the alliance through EPICUR’s joint course catalogue.

Open Courses can be:

• Courses co-developed with EPICUR partners 
• Existing SDU courses opened to EPICUR students 
• Short courses (typically 3–15 ECTS)
• Delivered online, blended, or on-site 

Open Courses provide a flexible way to internationalise teaching and enable students to gain international experience without long-term mobility.

Integrated Learning Experiences (ILEs) are EPICUR elements embedded in an existing course. Teachers from at least two EPICUR universities collaborate to design joint teaching and learning activities, while each university continues to offer its own course locally.

Examples of Integrated Learning Experiences:

• Joint online lectures with EPICUR partner universities
• Students working in international groups on shared assignments
• Guest lectures from EPICUR colleagues
• Short mobility components (e.g. 3–5 days on-site collaboration)

Integrated EPICUR Courses 

Joint courses that are integrated into study programmes at minimum two EPICUR universities. These courses are collaboratively developed and co-taught. 

Learning Pathways combine several EPICUR learning activities into a thematic learning experience across universities. A Learning Pathway typically focuses on a specific topic or societal challenge. 

A Learning Pathway can include: 

• Open Courses 
• Integrated Learning Experiences 
• Workshops and seminars 
• Project-based learning 
• Short mobility opportunities
