The Q&A consists of questions that your colleagues have previously asked in connection with the teaching. New questions and answers will be added on an ongoing basis. If you did not find an answer to your question, please contact uddannelseskommunikation@sdu.dk.

About teaching

  • You can do this as follows:
    From approx. early June for autumn subjects
    From approx. early December for spring subjects

    Students will have access to subjects in itslearning as follows:
    From early August for autumn subjects
    From early January for spring subjects

  • You can do this on the University of Southern Denmark Library’s pages here.

  • It would be optimal if you submit your syllabus lists in good time. This so that there is a good chance that the books will be available for students at the start of semester.

    For the library, the following applies:
    Send the lists to bogafd@bib.sdu.dk before the summer holiday to order for the autumn semester, and before Christmas  for the spring semester.

    For Academic Books – SDU, the following applies:
    Due to Brexit and the general delivery situation in the world, Academic Books – SDU would like to receive your literature information as soon as possible, however, before the end of June in relation to the autumn semester, and November in relation to the spring semester. Fill in this form or send the information to suj@academicbooks.dk.

For lecturers

  • On the following days there is neither teaching nor assessment:

    Easter holiday: From and including the Tuesday before Easter until and including the 2nd day of Easter (Monday).
    Pentecost (Whitsun) holiday: Includes public holidays only
    Summer holiday: July
    Autumn holiday: Week 42
    Christmas holiday: From and including the 24th of December and up to and including the 1st of January.

    Please note: Winter holiday (week 7) is not held at SDU.

Practical information

  • Yes, it is there.

    SDU’s Office suite contains a variety of templates that can be accessed via Templafy in PowerPoint and Word. Read more about Templafy here.
    You can also find images via SDUs image library Skyfish, which you can read more about here.
    Finally, it is good to know that SDU’s visual identity is defined in what is called a brand platform. This means, among other things, that at SDU we use specific colours in written material. Read more about the colour palette here.

  • Call 6550 8888 and an officer from Technical Services will come and unlock it for you. 
  • Your faculty has information about working environment and safety in laboratories. Ask the person you are in contact with regarding the planning of your teaching.

 

 

About students

  • They can do this on what is called a study page, which is on MitSDU.
  • There may be different requirements for attendance and participation in teaching and assessments. Rules and requirements are described in the programme regulations and in the subject/course descriptions, which students can access via their study page on MitSDU.
    If the student is absent from the study programme, and the absence lasts to the extent that there is doubt as to whether the student can fulfil an attendance requirement in order to pass, the student must contact the relevant study administrator (e.g. secretary, coordinator, etc.)
  • They can do this at mitsdu.dk/undervisning.
    New Master's students can read more at mitsdu.dk/utm.
  • Yes, but they must be aware of the rules for switching, which can be found on the study pages at MitSDU.
  • There are various counselling options regarding academic study supervision, well-being guidance, guidance about stays abroad, career guidance, etc.
    Guidance options can be found on the study page at MitSDU.
  • They can do this at mitsdu.dk/su.
  • They can do this at mitsdu.dk/sps.
  • There are several options, both for personal and anonymous inquiry – information can be found via the study pages on MitSDU.
