New PhD

Please be aware that you have two e-mails - one student e-mail and one employee e-mail. You are responsible for checking them both. For course registration use your student e-mail.

During your studies, you must pass courses equivalent to 30 ECTS including:

  • Introductory course of 0,5 ECTS. The introductory course will consist of an introduction to the PhD School. You can enroll the introductory course by contacting the PhD School.
  • Responsible Conduct of Research 3 ECTS. Find it here.
  • PhD course for new teachers at SDU – module 1 & 2 (2 ECTS)
  • Data protection course for employees at SDU. Find it here.

The faculty PhD committee recommends that all new PhD students take the course "PhD course for new teachers at SDU" as preparation for the teaching you will be doing for the department. Read more her.

Courses at SDU (site in Danish but text in English)

As a PhD student at the Faculty of Science, you have access to log in to PhdWeb, where you can see the data registered about you during your PhD program. This includes course approvals, environmental change, evaluation deadlines, approvals of evaluations, personal information and more. Link to PhdWeb: https://phdweb.sdu.dk/. If you experience any issues logging in, please contact the PhD School at natphd@sdu.dk.”

Send an e-mail to riphi@sdu.dk, cc VIP/PI, or ask your supervisor (or Lab technician/PhD/Postdoc) to do it.

You (cc VIP/Lab technician/PhD/Postdoc) will need to provide the following information:

  • VIP/PI name:
  • Student name + student email:
  • Time period for S-drive access (If enrollment is extended, please remember to extend access)
