Sound assessment practices are fundamental to high quality in higher education. Assessment provides judgement and evidence in support of accountability, student certification and student progression so it needs to be valid and reliable. It may also support student learning and feedback, if designed to promote desirable in-course learning behaviors, which may help develop students subject-specific and professional competencies, and other graduate attributes. The aim of this course is to support teachers in developing basic assessment literacy by training the application of basic principles of sound assessment practice.
