All permanent lecturers at the Faculty of Humanities must have a teaching portfolio.
The purpose is to strengthen the quality of teaching through support for teachers' continued pedagogical competence development. Reference is also made to the University of Southern Denmark's sub-policy for university pedagogy and pedagogical competence development, which stipulates that employees who teach have prepared an updated teaching portfolio.
The teaching portfolio should be seen as a work tool for the individual employee's pedagogical competence development. The portfolio must therefore be taken up at the MUS, where the contained action plan is also discussed and adjusted.
Content of teaching portfolio
The Memorandum on the Implementation of the Teaching Portfolio describes the requirements for the teaching portfolio and the elements of the teaching portfolio.
A teaching portfolio should have three parts:
- Teaching CV
- Reflected description of practice
- Action plan for pedagogical competence development
The Memorandum on the implementation of the teaching portfolio contains more precise advice and instructions, including clarification of what and which time period the teaching CV should cover.
In relation to the teaching CV, the purpose of the CV is not to list all the courses you have held. Rather, the idea is that with a list of selected course titles or topics, you give a signal of yourself as a teacher – experience, skills, interests.

Publication of the teaching portfolio
It is a requirement of the quality policy (indicator 4.1.2.2) that selected parts of the teaching portfolio are published.
Permanent lecturers at the Faculty of Humanities must publish their teaching CV in PURE – i.e. part 1 of the teaching portfolio. In practice, this is done by the individual teacher preparing a teaching CV under the tab "Curriculum vitae", cf. this guide.
You can also contact the library for advice and guidance on the teaching portfolio in PURE. The contact person for the Humanities is Regine Ejstrup (tel. 65 50 42 69).
