Internationalisation
Guide for international teaching staff at SDU
SDU UP has developed a SharePoint site for international teaching staff at SDU to provide insights into processes, systems, requirements and unwritten norms. The site offers information, guidance and resources to support the onboarding of new international teaching staff at SDU.
Much of the content will also be relevant to teaching staff who are familiar with the Danish higher education system but less familiar with how things work at SDU.

Resources for teaching staff using English as a medium of instruction
SDU UP has developed a SharePoint site with resources for all teaching staff who use English as a medium of instruction.
Practical resources for teaching through English as a medium of instruction (EMI)
The site was developed in collaboration with Sara Peterman, a speech and communication consultant. She offers language coaching to SDU teaching staff who teach in English. The coaching is particularly relevant for staff who want to improve the clarity, comprehensibility and effectiveness of their spoken English in teaching contexts. The coaching is intended to complement the lecturer training programme.
Teamwork dynamics – relevant to your students?
Donna Hurford works at SDU Centre for Teaching and Learning and has developed a resource on group work, reflecting her interest in diversity and collaboration.
She is particularly interested in how we can create inclusive groups in which all members contribute, and what it means to learn through collaboration.
If you have any questions about team dynamics, collaborative learning or reflective practice, you are very welcome to contact Donna to request an editable version of the material.
Donna is also happy to give a presentation on the topic or organise a workshop focusing on team dynamics and collaboration.

Course at the Faculty of Health Sciences and open drop-in workshop
Course in Team-Based Learning (TBL) on 25 January 2027
Team-Based Learning (TBL) can be used with both small and large groups of students, and there is growing interest in the distinctive approach to question design that lies at the heart of TBL.
A new course will therefore be held in Dialogen (M-0.60) at the Faculty of Health Sciences on 25 January, 9.00–12.00. In-person attendance is recommended, but online participation is also possible.
Registration deadline: 18 January 2027 – register here.
A little more about TBL: TBL is based on working with real-world cases and is a relevant and effective teaching method across all subjects and levels of study.
TBL develops students' ability to engage in academic dialogue, construct arguments and make decisions – all essential skills for their future professional careers.
This teaching approach is therefore an effective and relevant complement to more traditional teaching methods. Students find participating in Team-Based Learning both motivating and engaging, while also encouraging them to take responsibility for their learning.
