Cooperation agreements with other universities

The management at The Facukty of Engineering has decided that the faculty can enter into agreements on double degree PhD study but not joint degree PhD study.

It requires a large amount of formalities, study administration and legal work to establish cooperation on PhD training and double degree between TEK and a foreign university. It is also a challenge for a PhD student to relate to two country's legislation for doctoral education during the study. It should therefore carefully be considered if it is necessary for the cooperation between the two universities that PhD students be awarded a PhD degree from each university (dual degree). Collaborative research involving PhD students may advantageously instead take place in the form of long environmental change stays at the two universities.

If you wish to explore the possibilities for entering into a cooperation agreement concerning the PhD study programme, please, contact the Vice Head of the PhD School Heidi Lundbeck Nielsen concerning the clarification of the formal requirements. Cooperation agreements must be approved by the PhD school before active consideration of the agreement can happen and agreement documents can be drawn up. Agreements on double degree are drawn up by the PhD school.
