The Centre for Public Health in Greenland actively participated in the triennial NUNAMED2025 health conference held in Nuuk, Greenland, from 3–5 October 2025. This year’s theme, Education and Future, brought together over 468 researchers, clinicians, professionals and policymakers to explore how education and research can improve health outcomes across the Arctic.

The Centre was strongly represented, with 11 staff members attending — many of whom played key roles in organizing and hosting the conference, while others contributed with presentations and workshops. Christine Ingemann and Ingelise Olesen were central members of the organizing committee and served as hosts throughout the event, helping shape both the logistics and the fully packed program. Jannie Olsen also supported with practical matters in the conference.
Among the keynote speakers were Ingelise Olesen and several of the Centre’s close collaborators, including Ceporah Mearns from Qaujigiartiit Health Research Center (Iqaluit) and Miriam Cullen from the Danish Institute for Human Rights.

The Centre led several thematic sessions, including:
- Workshop: Ethical Recommendations – Findings from Ileqqussaasut
- Culturally Safe Maternal Healthcare
- Older People as Experienced Experts in Health Research
- National Health Surveys
- Children’s Health is Public Health – HBSC
- Childhood Conditions and Health
- Workshop on Implementation of the UNCRC through Inuuneritta III
In total, the Centre contributed 18 abstracts.
As part of the conference’s networking events, Christina VL Larsen and Christine Ingemann co-hosted a reception on behalf of the Circumpolar Health Research Network and the UArctic Thematic Network on Health and Well-being in the Arctic.
A heartfelt thank you to all colleagues for your strong engagement and valuable contributions!
