Sport and health to become new signature degree programme at SDU
The bachelor’s degree programme in Sport and Health at the University of Southern Denmark will, from 2026, become part of SDU’s specially selected signature degree programmes. This marks an important step in the effort to develop degree programmes of high academic quality, with strong study environments and a close link to research and society.

SDU’s Rector on the Master’s Degree Reform – SDU must forge stronger connections between studies and business
The Master’s Degree Reform will gradually transform the master’s degree landscape towards 2028 and will have a significant impact from 2028 onwards. At SDU, work is well underway, and the first new degree programmes will start as early as September. Rector Jens Ringsmose sees the Reform as a major and demanding reorganisation – but also as an opportunity to strengthen the connection between universities, students and the labour market.

Jakob Grauslund is to become the new Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences
The University of Southern Denmark (SDU) has appointed Jakob Grauslund as the new Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences. He will be joining us from his role as Head of the Department of Regional Health Research at SDU and will take up the post of Dean on 1 June 2026. Jakob Grauslund takes over from Professor Ole Skøtt, who is retiring after 18 years as dean.

The figures for this year's applications to higher education programmes via quota 2 have now been published. The University of Southern Denmark has seen an increase in the number of applications for the fourth year in a row.
