Labelling emails as ‘private’

If you are a part-time lecturer or graduate student, you are generally considered a private individual (does not apply if your employer receives the fee for the teaching you do). Therefore, your primary employer, e.g. Law Firm X, must allow you to use your work email for private use to a limited extent. This is allowed in many workplaces, but you should check whether this is also applies to you. You should also create an email rule in your mailbox so that emails from SDU end up in a folder labelled ‘private’. Your employer may only in special circumstances access content in your mailbox that is labelled ‘private’, which is why this reduces the risk of sharing any SDU data and any personal data with your primary workplace, which would conflict with your possible employment at SDU.
