Copilot Chat is Microsoft’s version of the better-known tool ChatGPT.
Copilot is built on the same language model as ChatGPT combined with the latest information from the internet.
When you communicate with Copilot, it can understand your context and you can refer to previous questions and answers in the same thread.
Copilot Chat has also integrated the well-known Bing Image Creator from DALL.E 3, which creates completely new AI images based on your individual prompts.

Points of attention
Check that ‘Protected’ is displayed after your email address in the green box at the top right of the screen. This means that whatever you enter is not shared with users outside SDU.
It is up to you to decide whether you want to use the tool. If you want to use the tool, you must accept by clicking the Continue button.
Be aware of bias and false information inherited from the data the chatbot has been trained on or that is invented by the chatbot.
Generative AI is not perfect, and it can produce unexpected or even categorically false results.
It is important to quality assure the output so that what you want to use is correct and comprehensive.
Views that exist in the source material may be suppressed or omitted in the response to your prompt if they conflict with the service provider’s code.
Creative
This style is suitable for idea generation and inspiration.
It is currently the conversation style that generally produces the best response results!
Using this style, it is easier to get Copilot to relate to the content of webpages and generate
images, etc. The responses in this style are often rich in text.
Balanced
The generation of responses relies heavily on internet searches. This means that Copilot does not really utilise the wealth of data that the model builds on. It can be useful for simple prompts without complex enquiries.
Precise
This style is designed for prompts that seek something factual. In this style, the answers are short and precise.
It is not as good at relating to content on websites if you insert links in the prompt.
You have the option to chat with Copilot in a session.
You can enter up to 30 prompts per session. If you need more, start a new session.
Image
You can upload an image in the search bar and use it for image recognition.
Copilot cannot read text on an image like Microsoft OneNote can.
Token
A token is approximately equivalent to one word and punctuation. For example, 4000 tokens amounts to around 4000 words, including commas, full stops, exclamation marks, etc.
Important!
If you leave a session, all prompts and responses are deleted. Remember to save the prompts and responses you will need later.
Check the browser setting to make sure that if you click on a link in a reply in a session, the web page in question will open in a new browser tab. If the web page opens in the same page, the session is deleted and you cannot get back to the response.
