What can I use generative AI for as an administrative employee?

Before you get started, be aware that generative AI, such as AI chatbots, is not infallible.
Use your professional judgment and maintain your critical thinking to get the most out of these tools.

Here are some examples of tasks you can use AI chatbots for:

 

Translation and proofreading – a linguistic aid

Language models that power AI chatbots are very strong in many languages.

  • You can customize translations to be formal or humorous.
  • You can get grammatical errors corrected and suggestions for new phrasings.

 

Transcription and formatting of meeting notes

You can get help with transcribing meeting notes so they can be processed and formatted into, for example, a report or a summary email.

Tone of Voice (SDU's voice) in text

  • You can ensure that texts reflect SDU's editorial communication guidelines.
  • You can ensure consistency if there are many variations in writing styles in multiple texts.
  • You can target the text to specific audiences and types of communication platforms.

 

Drafts of text, presentations, templates, etc.

AI chatbots are good at providing a first draft of the structure and content for the text, presentation, or template you want.
The draft can be the neutral suggestion that is professionally assessed and processed - either by refining the prompt or by manual further work.

Help with coding and Excel formulas

AI chatbots can help write code, correct code, and document code.
There is also a fairly good program knowledge, so AI chatbots can provide instructions for various functionalities in, for example, Excel. It can provide drafts of tables that are targeted for Excel, as well as formulas for processing data in Excel.

Inspiration and sparring partner

AI chatbots are very suitable for providing inspiration and acting as a sparring partner. It provides the first draft based on even a simple prompt, which kickstarts the task, idea, or the like.
You can have a dialogue with the chatbot about various topics, and you can assign it a role so that it provides feedback within a specific subject/area.

AI chatbots can handle large amounts of data, and you can, for example, upload a document where you can have the chatbot provide:

  • Highlighting viewpoints or specific trends

This can be a review of the results of surveys, consultation responses, reports, notes, etc.

AI chatbots can provide examples of how an application should be structured based on the premises to which the application is being made. This can be for foundations, projects, jobs, etc.

AI chatbots can, among other things, provide examples of relevant search terms and keywords that can make your further work with applications easier.
