The purpose of the Education Forum is twofold:
The Education Forum discusses and advises the faculty management and the departments on relevant strategic educational issues at their own request or that of the department heads, the faculty management, the Council for Education or the executive board.
The Education Forum discusses and shares knowledge about the tasks that, pursuant to the Danish University Act, SDU's statutes, SDU's policy for educational quality and other central and decentralised decisions, fall to the study boards and the head of studies on the individual programmes.
The tasks of the study boards, including tasks related to ensuring the organisation, implementation and development of education and teaching, are thus unchanged, cf. SDU's statutes.
As an overall forum and through the members' local management responsibilities, the study programme forum can ensure that the overall decisions are implemented in departments and in the administration.
Tasks
The primary task of the Education Forum is to strengthen SAMF's strategic efforts and activities in the field of education:
The Education Forum exchanges experiences in order to develop the faculty's programmes.
The Education Forum recommends decisions on overall strategic issues to the department heads, faculty management and/or study boards, including as a basis for prioritising initiatives and activities related to SAMF's and SDU's strategy.
In continuation of the above, the Education Forum coordinates the specific implementation and organisation of processes of importance to the development of the faculty's degree programmes.
The Education Forum contributes to hearings on topics that have consequences for the faculty's programmes.
