Your Intro Programme

User Access and Email:

Approximately 14 days before you start, you will receive an email from our IT department with information about your username and your SDU email, and how to attach a password to it. It will be sent to your private email.

Buddy System:

As a starting point, you will be assigned a buddy from your new unit, who will help you get settled in, introduce you to work and be your contact person.

Introduction to Administration:

About 1-2 weeks after you start, Karina from the IOB secretariat will call you to a meeting, where she will go through some of the administrative processes you will encounter in your employment. In addition, you get some practical information that is good to know and finally a review of the emergency plan.

Introduction to IOB and tour of the department:

Head of department, Jens Troelsen, holds a welcome meeting for new employees, where he shows the department’s many facilities.
Feel free to come to the IOB monthly meeting at 12.15, which takes place before the welcome meeting
.

Next scheduled welcome meetings for new employees:
Tuesday, December 3, 2024 from 12.45 - 13.45

Mandatory online GDPR course:

All SDU’s new employees must take SDU’s data protection course. It takes about two hours. It is divided into modules and takes place online, so you can divide it up if you like. We ask you to register yourself.

SDU’s introduction day for new employees:

We recommend that you also participate in SDU’s introduction day for new employees. It lasts 5 hours, and you get information about everything from SDU’s organization, framework for Danish universities, the 6 campus cities - to how and when a salary negotiation takes place, and what you can use union representatives for. You will also go on a small tour including to the library and have lunch in the restaurant.
