Support for income-generating activities

The Hub supports income-generating activity (IGA), through which the University's academic knowledge and expertise are put to use in activities carried out in collaboration with specific companies and institutions, for the benefit of stakeholders and society. Income-generating activity covers activities in which SDU makes its knowledge, expertise and facilitation available in return for payment. This may, for example, include demand for teaching, development work, advisory services, consultancy, or larger strategic partnerships.

IGA activities fall outside the ECTS-based degree portfolio and are funded by external partners or by other secure income derived from the activity itself. The activities are carried out on commercial terms and must, among other things, be priced so as to cover the University's costs.

One example is Børsen's board training programme, which SDU Business School offers in collaboration with Børsen. You can read more here: Read more about Børsen's board training programme at SDU. (in danish). Other examples range from a bespoke course for NOVO's production managers, academic reports and presentations, to special programmes for the Danish Defence, among others.

At the Hub, it is Marianne Sandgaard who provides development and organisational support, as well as connections to other key units at SDU, so that academic environments can develop and carry out activities in collaboration with private and external partners.
