Technical Services delivers, installs and services furnishings in common areas.
Common areas include shared corridors and common areas, shared classrooms, canteen areas, shared conference rooms and lunch rooms that can be booked as a shared meeting room in addition to having lunch there.
Furniture
(Standard) office furniture items are common goods and are ordered from SDU’s Central Warehouse by the local procurement officer via the procurement system.
Please find more info on SDU’s common goods here.
Technical Services assesses all procurements against the budget and can reject the request, or the procurement may be considered for delivery next year.
Order deadline: minimum 4 weeks.
For this reason, as a rule, furnishings are reused as much as possible.

The grand piano in U45
To ensure good use and maintenance of the grand piano in auditorium U45, the following guidelines apply:
The grand piano is reserved for official events where professionals are hired to play.
It is not a freely accessible instrument. The grand piano may not be used in connection with parties or social events.
Trial period with access for students and staff:
On a trial basis, upon request, students and staff at SDU with piano playing experience may use the grand piano. This is exclusively for individual practice or minor musical purposes with a professional or artistic aim.
The trial periode runs until 31 December 2025, after which it will be evaluated for possible extension, adjustment or cease.
The grand piano can only be used when room U45 is not booked for classes or other official events.
To gain access to use the grand piano as a student or employee, please contact Technical Services by sending an email to 8888@sdu.dk.
Interested parties should send a brief description of their musical background and purpose of use as well as requests for date and time.
Please note that enquiries must be sent no later than 7 days before the desired use. Remember to check availability in U45 via the link in the section above.
If you experience any faults, damage or defects with the piano (e.g. tuning, keys not working or other wear and tear), please report it immediately to Technical Services at 8888@sdu.dk. This is important to ensure that the instrument remains in good condition and can be used by others.
It is not allowed to bring or consume food and drinks near the grand piano.
All users are asked to ensure that the area around the grand piano is kept clean and tidy.
