New Construction

Technical Services is responsible for the project management of new buildings at SDU in close collaboration with the Danish Building and Property Agency, and ensures that the completed building is constructed within the established framework.

At SDU, construction begins with a Board decision based on a recommendation from SDU’s management. The decision is made strategically and prioritised in a balance between the wishes of the subject areas, the anticipated overall economic development at SDU and the requirements of external stakeholders, e.g. in the form of legislation and policy decisions. The University Director then informs Technical Services about the framework for the construction, including the vision for the building and the financial headroom.

Technical Services qualifies the desired construction through dialogue with collaboration partners as well as systematic user involvement, which is vital for successful construction and renovation.
