Actions and statements in research, education and knowledge collaboration

Freedom of research, freedom of teaching and freedom of debate and expression are fundamental values at the University of Southern Denmark and prerequisites for the University’s activities. Managers, employees and students have a joint task of creating and maintaining autonomous, responsible and critical, formative and enlightening research and educational environments.

Freedom of research, freedom of teaching and freedom of debate and expression do not exempt managers, employees and students from behaving properly and respectfully.

A safe and healthy mental work and study environment in which managers, employees and students interact with each other in a proper and respectful manner, ensuring that everyone can flourish under responsibility of the University’s purpose of seeking, creating and disseminating knowledge for the benefit of society and humanity.

Prevention of offensive behaviour through a healthy and safe work and study environment

Managers have a responsibility to communicate that offensive behaviour is unacceptable, to promote trusting dialogue and to act if instances of offensive behaviour do occur.

Management, employees, students, health and safety organisation and collaboration organisation have a joint task of creating and maintaining a good mental work and study environment.

There are a number of opportunities for working with the mental work and study environments with a focus on dialogue and prevention.
