SDU HR
OK24 - New Rules on Pension
From April 2025, SDU employees with pension contributions above 15% can choose to receive the surplus as salary, save it in a pension fund savings scheme, or both. Changes must be requested by 12 June 2025, and updates will become permanent in the payroll system when the final agreements are in place.
What should you do as an employee?
From April 2025, some of SDU’s employees will have new options for managing their pension. If the pension contribution exceeds 15%, you can choose to have it paid out as salary, deposited into a savings scheme in the pension fund, or a combination of both.
If you require guidance on the savings scheme, you must contact your pension fund. SDU HR cannot assist with calculations or guidance.

If you are unsure about how to complete this form, we have provided several examples at the bottom of this page.
All requests for changes apply from 1 April 2025 and are registered in the payroll system as a permanent change. You can request to have your pension paid out as salary or deposited into a savings scheme in the pension fund from 1 April 2025 until Thursday 12 June. After this date, it will only be possible to make changes once per year. SDU HR will inform you well in advance of future deadlines for submitting any requests for changes.
In connection with this news, we must also emphasise that SDU has yet to receive the final agreements that need to be in place before we can implement the changes. Therefore, it is not guaranteed that your changes can be registered in April's payroll. If the agreements are not finalised by April's payroll, the changes will be reflected in the next possible payroll run.
