Assistant professors, associate professors, and professors with an employment fraction of more than 20% are awarded an annual annuum.
The amount is calculated for a full-time position, so if the person is employed in a part-time position, the amount is reduced proportionally.
The institute’s allocation of annuum amounts is set as follows:

Transfer to New Fiscal Year
Unused funds are automatically transferred to the next fiscal year, while the allocation of new annuum funds
depends on the balance of the analysis number:
- If the balance is between 0 and 25,000 DKK at the end of the year, up to 12,500 DKK is awarded, up to
no more than 25,000 DKK. - If the balance is over 25,000 DKK at the end of the year, no further funds are allocated, but unused funds
are automatically transferred.
Budgeting of Planned Activity
If the balance is over 50,000 DKK, an agreement must be made with the head of department in December about the intended use of the funds.
Application of funds
Annuum can be spent on travelling, conferences, research stays abroad, text books, IT equipment, mobile phones and other items relevant to the employee’s activities at the department.The head of department must always approve the use of annuum before ordering larger purchases (over 50,000 DKK). Annuum funds belong to the department and cannot be transferred, taken with, or paid out upon end of employment.
