Grant applications and funding at IMM

Procedure for grant applications

When applying for external funding for your research project, it is important to follow SDU’s standard procedure for grant applications. The procedure ensures that all necessary steps are followed and that the application meets the applicable requirements and standards.

Read the full procedure for grant applications, including budget approval, here

Overhead/project charge

At the Department of Molecular Medicine (IMM), a project charge of 15 percent is applied to all grants. This charge is calculated based on the total amount of the grant, including overhead.

The project charge is used to cover indirect costs, such as rent, electricity, water, shared administration, laboratory maintenance and similar expenses. The department is continuously charged 15 percent of the project’s expenditure.

Any overhead associated with the project is allocated to the department.

PhD tuition fee

The tuition fee is DKK 62,500 per year, totalling DKK 187,500. It covers course participation (including potential subsidies for travel and accommodation), support for study stays abroad, and assessment and defence of the PhD thesis.

SDU Warm

SDU Warm is a portal that gathers all SDU documents relevant to external research funding. One useful tool, for example, is the SDU Budget Sheet, which can be used when preparing grant applications.

Access SDU Warm here.

Research Support Person
