Internal communication channels at the Faculty of Health Sciences

At the Faculty of Health Sciences (SUND), there are five official written communication channels from the Dean’s Office, the Dean’s Secretariat and the Faculty Secretariat to the departments – as well as for communication between departments.

Each communication channel serves a specific purpose and is aimed at a particular target group. It is therefore important to choose the appropriate one to ensure that the information reaches the right recipients and is handled correctly.

1. Head of secretariat – when an administrative manager needs to be informed or make a decision

Write to the head of secretariat if the information concerns, for example:

  • HR matters
  • Consultations
  • Updates from central units
  • Material from collegial committees

Contact:

2. Research Support – for research-related information

Use Research Support for, for example:

  • Announcements about funding opportunities
  • Invitations to information meetings
  • Nominations for awards, councils and committees
  • Questions related to the department’s research areas

Contact:

3. Head of department – when management decisions are involved

Send information to the head of department if it requires, for example:

  • A managerial decision or update
  • Discussion in collegial committees
  • Nominations for SDU awards
  • Proposals for honorary doctors

Contact:

4. Department mailbox – for general information

Use this channel for information that does not require a reply or decision – for example:

  • Invitations to events
  • Enquiries from school pupils
  • General communication from SDU

Contact:

5. SDUnet – when the message needs to reach a wide audience

SDUnet is SDU’s intranet. Each department has its own staff portal. Use SDUnet if your information needs to reach all staff members in a department.
